Our approach to the extension has been carefully developed to respond to the growing demand for pupil places while enhancing the overall learning environment across the school. The proposals build upon the established character and material palette of the existing site, incorporating composite cladding to create a contemporary yet cohesive addition that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding buildings.

Through a combination of thoughtfully designed extensions and targeted internal reconfigurations, the scheme delivers high-quality, flexible teaching and support spaces that will support both the immediate and long-term needs of the school community. The design has been developed with a strong focus on functionality, durability, and adaptability, ensuring the new accommodation can evolve alongside future educational requirements.

A key driver of the project has been the need to work sensitively within the constraints of the existing site. Careful consideration has been given to ecology and achieving Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) targets, ensuring the proposals positively contribute to the wider environmental aspirations of the school and site. The scheme has also been planned around the operational requirements of a live school environment, with the layout and construction strategy designed to facilitate a practical phased delivery while minimising disruption to staff, students, and day-to-day school activities.

The proposed three-storey extension is arranged across three floors and provides a range of new classrooms, offices, workrooms, and toilet facilities. A new main entrance located on the east elevation will serve as the primary point of access for staff and students, improving arrival and circulation across the campus. An additional exit on the north elevation provides a secondary daily access route and also functions as a fire escape. The stair core positioned on the east elevation has been designed to act as an additional emergency escape route, supporting safe and efficient evacuation throughout the building.

Kepier occupies a site of approximately 12.3 hectares, incorporating the main school buildings, sports pitches, parking areas, and a variety of external spaces which together form a well-established and prominent educational campus for students, staff, and visitors.
