Proposals for the redevelopment of the former Print Works have been completed and the project is ready to start on site. Located in the heart of Central Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Galleria UB will play host to high end retail over two storeys of the existing building and will see one of the most significant conservation and restoration project undertaken in Mongolia. Our designs have been informed by the constraints of the former Russian vernacular and the heavy concrete framed structure and sees modern internal interventions to provide a light and central atrium “Galleria”, from which the new retail experience is enjoyed. Externally, the building is restored to its former glory and sits in the surrounding context of the famous Sukhbaatar Square and Parliament.
